The regional community :
The Embrunais Regional Community is made up of the 8 villages of the Embrun region: Baratier, Châteauroux-les-Alpes, Crévoux, Crots, Embrun, Les Orres, Saint André d’Embrun and Saint Sauveur, with a population of around 12 000 people.
It is mainly involved in economic development, district land use planning, the promotion of tourism and the development of the local heritage.
Creating the Maison de Pays de l’Embrunais as a shop window for local produce and crafts is part of this work, with actions such as creating, re-qualifying and extending zones of activity , support for events helping to promote the Embrunais region, and organising guided tours and concerts in each of the villages of the area.

Maison de Pays de l’Embrunais :
The Embrunais regional community has bought and restored a building in which to house the Maison de Pays de l’Embrunais.
This is managed by an association of artists, crafts people and farmers, called “La Main Embrunaise”, under an objectives agreement which lays down the conditions for the working partnership.
A quality charter guarantees the quality of produce and creations sold on the site; this is a kind of quality label allotted to the product, and to the growers and crafts people exhibiting, also signed by chambers of Agriculture and Trade of the region.
An approval committee was formed with representatives of each of these partners. It chooses exhibitors and the range of products on the basis of its criteria.
